Happy New Year...!

It’s the first page of this new mysterious book.  We shall read it and live it, we shall enjoy it, and we shall love it.  We’re in the beginning of a new journey, we're in the start of our big race that we shall win.  We’ve written our new resolutions wishing to mark a check beside each one.  We’ve said goodbye to last year’s mistakes, and welcomed the new ones with opened arms, knowing that we will for sure learn something good from them.
We’ve set a line for our life, we’ve dreamed of a better year, we’ve spread the love amongst those whom we love.  The first pages are starting to be interesting, we’ve done so much in only three days, we’ve studied for our finals, we laughed from our hearts over stupid and important subjects.
2012 was one of my best years, actually, I believe that the whole world had a blast living that year!  Some countries have elected new presidents.  Some nations are still fighting for their rights.  Some people laughed, and ignored the sound of the bombs above their heads.  Some people got married and started a new life.  Some people graduated and started their adulthood.  We lost some people, but God replaced them with kids who are growing into successful people.  We met legends, who taught us that nothing is impossible.  We had dreams that turned into that reality.  We proved to ourselves that we’re strong, and now when I look back, I feel satisfied for every moment in that ‘’super awesome’’ year.
We have the future, we have the present, we have tomorrow, we have next week, and the next one hundred years.  Words will not describe how happy I am to see us getting better.  In 2012, I saw the youth trying to help.  I saw the adults trying to fix their mistakes.  I saw the parents trying to be better idols for their children.  I saw students trying to make their parents proud.
I think that we are all ready for 2013, we’re ready to read and live and enjoy and love a new book.  We will end the twelve chapters with an accomplishment, okay?  We will do our best to be the best.  We will be kind.  We will forget about money and focus on the happiness of giving and sharing.  We will stop judging.  We will love those true friends who will always be there for us.  We will love ourselves... Happy New Year everybody!

Two Days With Dad

*This blog post was written only two days before my dear father's accident -may he rests in peace-. Tears may express both happiness and sadness. A shaking voice can describe either fear or sorrow. A shivering body can describe all of the mentioned above. But what if, only if at one point in life, all of these emotions combine together to crash the human's body? What if our emotions can break our hearts in a second, then build them back again in the next? Goodbyes are meant to happen to everyone. As I grow up, I realize how hard they can be depending on whom I'm saying goodbye to....

A Step Forward

Fried fish on top of white rice.  My family gathered around this last meal, and I was personally enjoying the dish which started and ended my summer trip to Saudi.  Everyone around the table asked me about the date of my return trip back to the States at the start of the summer, as if we were all trying to reassure ourselves that we still have plenty of time together.  More time for more fish, more sweet tea with mi...

"Glocal" at the United Nations Youth Assembly

Those who dream, will definitely achieve.  The efforts we put into chasing our goals will be recognized.  Our faith in God, and those long nights praying with so much hope in our hearts.  The taste of accomplishment, that happiness, the laughter, oh and those tears of pure joy.  Standing up for the right, and fighting for the good.  We were all born great, but at the end of the day, it is up to us to realize that greatness and use it proactively.  Nobody’s better than the other, we are made different so we can come together and join those differences together for our own good.  If we’re the same, then competing will never get us anywhere, because “team work makes the dream work” according to a great wise friend of mine.  Working hand by hand to reach the finish line will get us further and further in life.  This past week, I had the honor to be the Saudi Delegate to the United Nations Youth Assembly, and this is the story of how this week t...
