UBI

Happiness.  It is defined as: that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can't help but smile.  This is exactly how I can describe this past week of my life.  The happy vibes and smiles. The loud laughs.  The pure joy.  The unforgettable memories with the amazing people whom I can't help but call "family".  Life has all kinds of gifts for us, sometimes they are the good days, and some others times they are the good pure hearted people who light up those days with their kindness and amazing souls.

Inspiring others through words or actions, and knowing what to say about your own life and struggles is not always easy.  Finding the right words to make someone smile to let them leave their sadness, and cheering one whole crowd up with a sentence is definitely a blessing.  This past week I was very privileged to hear a man called Mr. Happy speak.  He taught me so many life lessons during one singular hour.  His positive attitude towards life made everything seem so easy.  His smile and words reached my heart faster than anything did.  Giving forward is the greatest kind of generosity.  Mr. Happy talked about how blessed he is with his life, and how he loves to give forward-- which he did for us--.  Imagine that you can make someone else's life easier or better simply by offering them something that you don't need anymore.  Imagine their happiness upon receiving your act of giving.  Imagine how you can light someone's soul, make their heart full of love, and their brain empty of worries.  Imagine how you, as a normal person just like everyone else, can make such a huge difference by the act of giving forward.  Generosity is not only restricted to money, it is spreading smiles and happiness around you.  It is taking the time to actually stop thinking of yourself, and starting looking around to think of others.  Every person has a story, it is simply up to us to give the effort and time to be around those whom we love and care about.

Mr. Happy also told us about a very valuable sentence which is UBI; U are the best, Be happy, I love you.  The value of love is measured by how much attention and care we are willing to give for those we love.  It is measured by the kind words, the small acts, and the continuous presence for each other through thick and thin.

Knowing my peers on a personal level made me appreciate their existence not only in my life, but also in this world.  Here, in the city of Boone, NC I found a treasure of fifty incredible people.  We are different on so many levels, yet we are so similar as friends who love each other unconditionally.  Our differences united us together in something that we all like to call: fAMBly.  Understanding your friends, being there for them, knowing who they truly are makes you incredibly thankful to have them around you.  The happiness that you can share with those people, the priceless memories, the meaningful hugs, the true happiness, and the positive "vibes" that surround you like a closed bubble is the true definition of the Good Life.

"U are the best".  To anyone reading this, you are forever considered as the best of the best.  Look at yourself today and what you have accomplished already.  Look at how you treat others with respect and honor.  Look back on the past with satisfaction, look at the present with happiness, and look at the future with hope and optimism.

"B Happy" never forget that you are valued by a lot of people around you.  Remember that many people will always have your back with a soft and safe touch of care.  Know that you are important in other people's life, and that they will always enjoy your company and laughs.  Be happy, because it is never too late to enjoy the present and live it to the max.  Be happy, because everything you do today will reflect positively on you and the whole world tomorrow.  Be happy, because you are unique, there is only one of you in the world, so enjoy how valuable you are in the eyes of others, and yourself.

"I love you".

Hoping before McDowell's School Board

Not every exchange experience is the same, simply because every student is different, and every place is different too. Comparing an experience to another is a huge mistake, yet looking at each one individually triggers curiosity to those who are not part of it to know more.  Not every day is rainbows and sunshine, but surly not every other day is clouds and rain. One bad day shall never ruin a year long experience, and one good day will create memories that will spring in the happiness of many other days to come.     My day today was one of a kind. A day that shall keep me motivated for a good period of time. It's a day that I can smile at and tell myself that I actually invested my time in the project of my successful ways of living. I'll never be the wise person who advises people with powerful talks.  I'll never be the big boss who's in charge. Instead, or at least for now, I am going to live for the present and do my best in influencing a change in this community.

Twelve Countries Uniting with Love for One Nation's Host Families

Sending small messages to more than five continents and ten countries could be extremely hard.  But finding the people who would respond to my messages with open hearts and a loud "YAS!" to something that I had to say was a piece of cake.  Having those strong connections made my last few nights light with happiness, because I was reminded through my friends' words, reactions, and pictures that the future really does belong to those of us who care about making it a better place to live for all.  We all shared one similar past during our time as exchange students in the United States in the school year of 2014-2015.  We said "Yes" to a new life that was full of new adventures and wild experiences.  We agreed to cross the Atlantic and the Pacific, because we strongly believed in our power, future, and in our own selves.  Age was not an obstacle, for we drew an amazing picture of America.  Yet the most important parts of this whole year were and forever will
